BudgetTrail stores the budgeting information you enter on your device. The app does not require an account and does not run a BudgetTrail server for syncing your budget data.
1. Information you enter into the app
BudgetTrail lets you enter budgeting information such as income source names, income amounts, expense names, categories, due dates, recurring settings, loan names, loan balances, repayment amounts, interest rates, effective dates, notes, and app theme preferences.
This information is stored locally on your device so that the app can display and update your budget views.
2. Information collected automatically
BudgetTrail may use third-party services, including Google Mobile Ads, to display ads on supported mobile platforms. These services may collect information such as device identifiers, advertising identifiers, app interactions, approximate location, diagnostics, and other technical data as described in their own privacy policies.
BudgetTrail itself does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, or banking login details.
3. How information is used
BudgetTrail uses locally stored information to:
- Show your income, expenses, loans, and remaining monthly budget.
- Track month-by-month changes that you enter.
- Remember app settings such as your selected theme.
- Improve app stability and support basic app functionality.
Third-party advertising services may use information to provide, measure, personalise, and improve ads, subject to their own policies and your device privacy settings.
4. Sharing of information
BudgetTrail does not sell your budgeting information. Because your budget entries are stored locally, they are not sent to a BudgetTrail server for account syncing.
Information may still be processed by third parties in these situations:
- Advertising and analytics features provided by services such as Google Mobile Ads.
- App store, operating system, crash reporting, and device-level services.
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or a lawful request.
5. Local storage and deletion
BudgetTrail stores app data on your device. You can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app or clearing the app's storage through your device settings. This may permanently delete your BudgetTrail data.
If your device backup settings include app data, copies may remain in your device or cloud backup according to your operating system and backup provider settings.
6. Security
We use reasonable care when building BudgetTrail, but no app, device, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should keep your device, operating system, and app updated, use a strong device lock, and avoid entering information you do not want stored on your device.
7. Children's privacy
BudgetTrail is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app in a way that requires action, contact us using the support details provided on the app store listing or the website where this page is hosted.
8. International users
If you use BudgetTrail outside South Africa, your information may be processed in your country or in other countries by your app store, operating system provider, advertising providers, or other third-party services. Privacy rights and protections may vary by location.
9. Your choices
You can control some privacy settings through your device, operating system, app store, or advertising settings. Depending on your platform, you may be able to reset or limit the use of your advertising identifier, restrict tracking permissions, disable personalised ads, or clear app storage.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated policies will apply from the effective date shown on this page. If the changes are material, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
11. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us using the support details provided on the app store listing or the website where this page is hosted.
